Cloud, the Independence Day Movie Special (Jul 04)

CloudCamp is an unconference where early adopters of Cloud Computing technologies exchange ideas. With the rapid change occurring in the industry, we need a place where we can meet to share our experiences, challenges and solutions. At CloudCamp, you are encouraged to share your thoughts and experience in several open discussions, as we strive for the advancement of Cloud Computing. End users, IT professionals and vendors are all encouraged to participate.

Cloud, the Independence Day Movie Special

Questions to be examined are :-

1. "Forget the fat lady. You're obsessed with fat lady. Just get us out of here!"
The Ethics of Cloud? What is the monster we're creating? Will it lead to unemployment, the rise of gamification and monitoring in every aspect of life? Are we building a privacy and control nightmare? Should we wait to see or start running?

2. "Everyone's trying to get out of Washington, and we're the only schmucks trying to get in"
The Government Role in Cloud? Will Government stifle community innovation (as happened in radio) or is there a more positive side to Government involvement?

3. "After they've consumed every natural resource they move on... and we're next. Nuke 'em. Let's nuke the bastards."
Will Cloud be Green?

4. "W-what do you mean, oops?"
Will Cloud improve our lives as consumers or imprison us more? What has Cloud in store for our future?

Of course bring along your cloud questions and opinions, you'll have the opportunity to voice them.

As always the unconference will provide vendor neutral unbiased expert opinion, answering questions and discussing issues in a fun and educational way, along with the opportunity to network with cloud users, consultants and vendors.  It is a forum where you can get your cloud questions answered in a unbiased way and meet people with real cloud experieince.

We keep vendor sales pitches to a minimum by giving the audience 'red cards' - if you don't like what the speakers are saying send them off!
